Within the whole of Scripture, he reminds us that God has always been faithful — even when humans weren’t. That faithfulness to both God and others is essential to our Fruitfulness.

Faithfulness: trustworthiness, dependability; the state of being someone in whom complete confidence can be placed.
The faithfulness we’re being invited into flows in two directions: God and others.
No matter how unfaithful humanity has been, God has remained relentlessly faithful.
The Fruit of faithfulness can be grown by daily follow-through.
Are we the type of people others can count on?

Goodness: a positive moral quality characterized especially by interest in the welfare of others.
Goodness describes loving action that contributes to the well-being, building-up, and salvation of others.
So this Sabbath year is not simply a call to let the land rest, but it is a shift in the mindset of what it means to have ownership over the land, and what it produces.
How can we be creative to find viable avenues of economic justice that fits into our economic framework?
Jesus proclaimed the year of the Lord’s favor, and enacted goodness through his loving action in the world.

Kindness: to act kindly, to be kind; the quality of being warmhearted, considerate, humane, gentle, & sympathetic.
Steadfast love - loving kindness: unwavering, loyal love that is enduring and constant, often associated with God’s covenantal faithfulness
Our kindness is rooted in God’s steadfast love.
“Kindness is grace expressed in human relations, by being helpful when anger might be the expected, natural response… kindness [is] the mirror opposite of ‘fits of rage’ and ‘selfish ambition.’” - Dr. George Lyons, NBBC, Galatians
When we are walking with the Spirit, kindness can become our default temperament.
Let’s not use our personalities or our circumstances as an excuse to miss out on the transforming power of the Spirit in us.

Pastor Debbie broke down patience speaking into how we can exhibit it but also how it effects our lives for good; that patience is not passive waiting but active enduring.

Patience: “long-tempered” or “long-suffering”, slow to anger, directly opposing a short temper
Patience as a fruit of the Spirit is not just passive waiting, but an active, God-given endurance through trials and difficult relationships.
God sets the tone for patience by how He acts towards us during our spiritual journey.
Patience dictates how we behave during delays, hardships, and interactions with frustrating people.
Patience is how we act when we are waiting.
In the long-suffering, God is working in us. If we are not careful, we will miss it.

Based on the whole story of Scripture, what does it look like for PEACE to flow out of me through the power of the Holy Spirit?
What is this peace, really? And how is it different from what the world calls peace?
Where does peace come from?
How do we walk in it?
Peace was never about the going still. It’s about keeping our eyes on the One who’s already walking toward us through them.
First: Peace with God comes before the peace of God.
Second: lasting peace is a result of sanctification.
A divided heart cannot hold peace.
Peace that’s planted deep doesn’t disappear the moment life gets hard. It holds.
The peace of God isn’t just a feeling that happens to settle over us. Its a watchman. It stands at the door of our hearts and our mind and it does not let despair, panic, or hopelessness march in and take the throne - even when they’re pounding on the gate.
Peace that stays private isn’t the fruit Paul is describing. Fruit is grown to be given away.
It just overflowed, because that’s what the fruit of the Spirit does when it’s real.
Peace was never meant to be the absence of hard days. It’s the inner assurance that because God is sovereign, whatever happens - it is well with my soul.
The peace of God is not reserved for people whose lives are calm. It is promised to people who belong to Christ and who keep yielding to His Spirit - especially in the storm.

It is the second week for our series revolving around the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:16-25). This week we looked at the biblical view and emphasis on the Joy of the Lord in our faith journey. Pastor Jeni preached that this type of joy is found both now and forever. That is an abounding joy that cannot be taken away.

Chara - JOY: a state of joy and gladness; delight
“Joy” is used 133 times in the New Testament. 50 of those are in Paul’s letters.
The JOY of the New Testament refers to is unique to the Christian experience.
The JOY of Scripture is rooted in what God has done & continues to do in Christ for us and others.
So, what is the source of this joy? The Good News of the Resurrected King Jesus and all that that means now and for eternity.
Jesus purchased with his blood our ability to experience enduring joy in this life.

It’s a love that emerges from our heart and finds its way into our lifestyle & our choices.
When we know we are unconditionally loved by God,

This week Pastor Jeni preached on the message of Paul throughout Philippians to be like Christ and to choose His way instead of the selfish one. She urged us to be as Jesus and to show the fruit of our life with how we live it out in our daily interactions and decisions. We were reminded that ALL things are possible through Christ Jesus.
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
In Philippians, Paul is inviting Jesus followers to allow their lives to mirror the story of Jesus.
Let your salvation come to fruition in such a way that it shows up in the way you live.
God will give us everything we need to be faithful to him - including the desire to do so. We still have to choose to walk it out.
When you want to complain, collaborate instead. When you want to argue, choose curiosity instead. Our character is a testimony.
Remember what the Good News says is possible because of Jesus.

Romans was born out of a desire to unify a diverse church around the essentials of the Good News.
Paul’s goal from the beginning - to unify a divided church.
Paul is speaking to a church - a gathered body - in a particular place instructing them on how to fight for unity in the midst of their diversity.
5 Things to Pave the Way for Unity
A people aiming at God’s best.
A people exercising & celebrating one another’s gifts.
Genuine love for one another.
Practice extending forgiveness & grace.
Our corporate love must spill over.
When you do church family correctly, there will be conflict.
