This week was the third week in our Lent series titled, “A Consuming Fire”. As we approach the cross and resurrection of our Lord we must remember who our God is and avoid distractions so that can hear His voice and experience His presence. God doesn’t give up on us. He is calling us back, calling us deeper! Join us for week three of, “A Consuming Fire”.
May we experience a purifying and indwelling of the consuming fire of God.
Purifying that changes us — Indwelling that empowers us.

Desire & distractions are everywhere.
The Israelites forgot.
What makes us forget God?
Consistent temptation for the people of God throughout history to forget who God has called us to be and to get distracted by all that we want.
Even when God brings judgement & justice he doesn’t give up on us.
God is never done calling, never done seeking restoration and renewal for all.
God can change hearts & He still is.

This week we followed up with another sermon in the series, “A Consuming Fire”, in which we are looking through various passages and books within Scripture all with a goal of being open to God our Refiner. “May we experience a purifying and indwelling of the consuming fire of God.” A purifying that changes us and an indwelling that empowers us.

The Psalmist is longing for “home”.
In the presence of God is a joy like no other.
In the journey, with all its ups and downs, is abundant joy.
Once you have constant access to something it can become undervalued no matter how valuable it actually is.
Do we ache for God like that?

We kickstarted a FIRE new series this week titled, “A Consuming Fire”. This is our series for the season of Lent that goes along with the devotional book of the same name. For the first week, Pastor Jeni preached on the purifying and indwelling of the consuming fire of God. She asked us to search our heart and earnestly seek God together in this 40 days leading up to Easter. Join us as we begin the procession to the cross.

May we experience a purifying and indwelling of the consuming fire of God.
A purifying that changes us and an indwelling that empowers us.
The God of the universe invites us to come into God’s rest.
Come into God’s presence, woefully underdressed and ill prepared though you may be. The invitation stands.

We take a look at the power dynamic between King Saul and David after David is anointed by Samuel. Through this lens, we discover the importance of having trustworthy individuals in our life that can call us out when we are not walking the path of God’s best for our lives.

On Sunday in addition to concluding our series titled, “Wholehearted” we also celebrated how our church partnered with God in serving His Church locally and internationally this past year. We also honored the past in seeing how God used our church in furthering His Kingdom then as well through a few missional initiatives. Joy is something found deep down inside that no thing can take from us.
Joy is the word of the week in our Advent series this week. Pastor Jeni preaches about the importance of joy, the gift that it is to us, and where it is found. Join us for a wonderful message on the Joy of the Lord.
Things to consider as you listen:
Truth stabilizes. Purpose fortifies.
How do we maintain joy when life is not joy-filled?
The gift of God’s presence is the source of joy no matter our circumstances.
Joy is a product of the Holy Spirit alive in us.
Because of the Resurrection of Christ, no one can steal our joy.
Jesus is our joy!
Christ has come. Christ is coming. Christ WILL come again.
