Have you ever wondered how we as humans are reflections of God? How we were created? How we were intended to be in our creation? That is what we explore in week 1 of our new series titled, “Reflecting God”. This week, Pastor Jeni looks at the very beginning (Genesis 1) to discover some interesting ideals we can gain from how we were created by our God.
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
Male & Female together reflect the image of God.
Humankind - unlike any other part of creation - was created in the image of God.
There is something about God to be reflected into the world in each one of us.
We reflect God in our creation.
We reflect God in our care.
We reflect God in our cultivating.
We reflect God in our community.
Our origin story reveals God’s heart when he created the human race: Reflect God in the world.

This week at BCC we had with us District Superintendent of the North Arkansas District, Mark Lindstrom. He preached on the theological view on ordination as well as the belief that ALL are called to be the hands and feet of Christ. Through the Books of Numbers, Joel, Acts, and 1&2 Timothy, we discover more about God’s calling to all believers to be active participants in His plans.
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
The Twelve were called and commissioned by Jesus himself.
The Seventy/Seventy-Two were sent out by the Lord’s command to proclaim the Kingdom.
After the Resurrection and Ascension, the Church gathered to worship Jesus and discern how to continue the ministry of the Lord.
At Pentecost, the gift of the Spirit is given, in fulfillment of the Old Testament’s expectation.
The Twelve commissioned others by ordination to continue the apostolic ministry in their generation until the end of time.
A well-equipped ministry of the laity is the WHY for having an equipping, ordained ministry of the clergy!

Following up from a wonderful Easter Sunday, we continue on with one more message in the mini-series, “Take Another Look”. Specifically, Pastor Jeni honed back in on a lesser discussed concept of Holy Saturday. What happened between Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday? What was Jesus doing as the disciples and ones who loved Him waited anxiously in seeming defeat? Join us as we journey into it.
I believe in… Jesus Christ…
He descended to the dead.
On the third day He rose again.
Excerpt from The Apostles Creed
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
If we believe that God wastes nothing, then Christ’s time in the grave was significant.
There is no place God will not go for the sake of his people.
Christ had the full human experience - even in death.
He went to wherever darkness & evil & death rules.
There, he proclaimed the GOOD NEWS & his ultimate victory over evil & death.
On Holy Saturday, Christ declared victory & authority over sin & death & evil.
The GOOD NEWS is that Christ has defeated darkness once & for all.
There is NOWHERE Christ would not go for you.
Because of that silent, holy Saturday, darkness operates on borrowed time. They know it. Do we live like we know it?

He is Risen. He is Risen indeed. This week was Easter, a wonderful time in the life of our church. We concluded our series titled, “A Consuming Fire”, this week with a sermon urging us to examine in ourselves where God might be telling us to “take a closer look” in our lives. Pastor Jeni says that sometimes controlled burns can provide growth and health. He is Risen.
May we experience a purifying and indwelling of the consuming fire of God.
Purifying that changes us — Indwelling that empowers us.
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
Sometimes life can feel like we are simply journeying to a grave.
Even the grand Roman Empire is helpless before the divine will of God.
Sometimes in life we have to take another look at Christ at work in our midst.
The resurrection story gives us hope to see light breaking in on the darkest of places.
Will we live as those with resurrection hope?
Do you need to take another look?

Palm Sunday. A day of victory. It also the sixth week in our series, “A Consuming Fire”! In this series we have ventured to all corners of the Bible to discover what God says about how he calls us to purification in a way like a refining fire. This week, through the books of Zechariah and Exodus, we celebrate Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday: what it meant then and now.
May we experience a purifying and indwelling of the consuming fire of God.
Purifying that changes us — Indwelling that empowers us.
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
Jesus came to Jerusalem victorious.
Jesus came as a different kind of King… & its a beautiful picture of grace!
Jesus is a King of peace.
Jesus came as a different kind of King… & they didn’t really want that.
Jesus was exactly what they needed, but they couldn’t see it.
Is Jesus the kind of King we want?
In what way is Jesus not what you expected?

It is the fifth week in our series, “A Consuming Fire”! In this series we have ventured to all corners of the Bible to discover what God says about how he calls us to purification in a way like a refining fire. This week, through the books of Zechariah, Proverbs, and Exodus, we find that chaos is everywhere, but in this chaos we have hope and stability in God.
May we experience a purifying and indwelling of the consuming fire of God.
Purifying that changes us — Indwelling that empowers us.
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
Chaos is everywhere.
In the midst of chaos, there is a choice to be made: trust in God or give way to fear.
God’s unfailing love provides stability in the chaos of life.
Are you confident in God?
Let chaos create connection.

Welcome to the fourth week in our series, “A Consuming Fire”! In this series we have ventured to all corners of the Bible to discover what God says about how he calls us to purification in a way like a refining fire. This week we spent most of our time in Deuteronomy 6 and 30 as Pastor Jeni preached on obedience v. disobedience and grace and love of God.
May we experience a purifying and indwelling of the consuming fire of God.
Purifying that changes us — Indwelling that empowers us.
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
Wholehearted love — obedience to God’s Laws — witness
God is straightforward — obedience leads to life. Disobedience leads to death.
God’s clarity is an act of love.
We have a path to choose also.
God’s grace makes a way for us to be renewed again and again.

This week was the third week in our Lent series titled, “A Consuming Fire”. As we approach the cross and resurrection of our Lord we must remember who our God is and avoid distractions so that can hear His voice and experience His presence. God doesn’t give up on us. He is calling us back, calling us deeper! Join us for week three of, “A Consuming Fire”.
May we experience a purifying and indwelling of the consuming fire of God.
Purifying that changes us — Indwelling that empowers us.
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
Desire & distractions are everywhere.
The Israelites forgot.
What makes us forget God?
Consistent temptation for the people of God throughout history to forget who God has called us to be and to get distracted by all that we want.
Even when God brings judgement & justice he doesn’t give up on us.
God is never done calling, never done seeking restoration and renewal for all.
God can change hearts & He still is.

This week we followed up with another sermon in the series, “A Consuming Fire”, in which we are looking through various passages and books within Scripture all with a goal of being open to God our Refiner. “May we experience a purifying and indwelling of the consuming fire of God.” A purifying that changes us and an indwelling that empowers us.
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
The Psalmist is longing for “home”.
In the presence of God is a joy like no other.
In the journey, with all its ups and downs, is abundant joy.
Once you have constant access to something it can become undervalued no matter how valuable it actually is.
Do we ache for God like that?

We kickstarted a FIRE new series this week titled, “A Consuming Fire”. This is our series for the season of Lent that goes along with the devotional book of the same name. For the first week, Pastor Jeni preached on the purifying and indwelling of the consuming fire of God. She asked us to search our heart and earnestly seek God together in this 40 days leading up to Easter. Join us as we begin the procession to the cross.
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
May we experience a purifying and indwelling of the consuming fire of God.
A purifying that changes us and an indwelling that empowers us.
The God of the universe invites us to come into God’s rest.
Come into God’s presence, woefully underdressed and ill prepared though you may be. The invitation stands.
How’s your heart? Tender & responsive OR hard & resistant.
The Israelites chose familiar pain over a faithful God.

In the fourth week of our series, “Wholehearted”, Pastor Jeni preaches on the power of fear within our lives and how it can hold us back from living wholehearted lives with God. We take a look at the power dynamic between King Saul and David after David is anointed by Samuel. Through this lens, we discover the importance of having trustworthy individuals in our life that can call us out when we are not walking the path of God’s best for our lives.
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
Fear is a powerful motivator.
How is fear keeping you from wholeheartedness?
Living wholeheartedly means remembering that God’s ways are higher.
Living wholeheartedly means choosing the higher way.
Jealousy, Fear, and Anger when left unsurrendered impede our wholeheartedness.
Who are the people in your life who you have given the green light to be corrective?

Continuing on in our series, “Wholehearted”, Pastor Jeni preaches through 1 Samuel 15-19 in which we are once again reminded that the 1 Family Rule is to love the Lord your God wholeheartedly. When it comes to doing great things, God can do all things - all He needs is our heart.
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
Living wholeheartedly means other humans cannot dictate our obedience.
All God needs to do great things through you is your heart.
Unsurrendered jealousy tends to lead us to places we never imagined we’d go.

This week in the second week of our series titled, “Wholehearted”, Pastor Jeni preaches on 1 Samuel 7-12 as we find out how idols can impact our relationship with God and partition our hearts of devotion to him. Have you done an “idol audit” lately? Join us as we are challenged, once again, by the book of 1 Samuel together.
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
Living wholeheartedly means admitting that we are in constant need of an idol audit.
Living wholeheartedly means recognizing that no earthly “king” or “power” will provide what God provides.
Living wholeheartedly means recognizing that partial obedience is still disobedience.
Love the Lord your God wholeheartedly

Wholehearted living! This week we started into a new series titled, “Wholehearted”, diving into what living wholeheartedly can practically mean in our lives. Pastor Jeni challenges us to think critically about how we are living out our devotion to Christ. Join us as we learn from the book of 1 Samuel what it means to love God wholeheartedly.
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
Wholeheartedly = with complete sincerity and commitment
Living wholeheartedly means taking even our discouragement, bitterness, & anguish to God.
Living wholeheartedly means choosing obedience even when it hurts.
Living wholeheartedly means never missing an opportunity to praise God.
Living wholeheartedly means never taking for granted who you might be raising or impacting.
Living wholeheartedly means knowing your strength & ability is only a small piece of the story.
Love the Lord your God wholeheartedly.

It’s 2026 ya’ll!
We are kicking off the new year with a new series centered around hope and fear. This week Pastor Jeni reminds us that through Christ, our hopes and fears are secured. We then reflected on 2026 together. Below you will find all of the same resources used during the service. Join us to begin 2026 on a reflective and spiritual note.
Notes from Sunday’s Sermon:
…the hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.
Isaiah 60:1-3, 19-22 NLT
Because the light has come, we carry our hopes & fears a little differently.
Mark 4:35-41 NLT
What if the Jesus who can calm literal wind & waves carries our hopes & fears thorugh 2026?
REFLECTION:
“I will remember the deed of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.” Psalm 77:11-12
Where did you see God’s faithfulness this year?
“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13a-14
What disappointments are you carrying from 2025 that you’d like to let go of?
“Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.” Psalm 86:11
How can you be more wholeheartedly devoted to Jesus in 2026?
What spiritual practice could help you be more wholehearted this year?

“I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart - where - down in my heart - where - down in my heart…”
Joy is something found deep down inside that no thing can take from us.
Joy is the word of the week in our Advent series this week. Pastor Jeni preaches about the importance of joy, the gift that it is to us, and where it is found. Join us for a wonderful message on the Joy of the Lord.
Things to consider as you listen:
Truth stabilizes. Purpose fortifies.
How do we maintain joy when life is not joy-filled?
The gift of God’s presence is the source of joy no matter our circumstances.
Joy is a product of the Holy Spirit alive in us.
Because of the Resurrection of Christ, no one can steal our joy.
Jesus is our joy!
Christ has come. Christ is coming. Christ WILL come again.
Full Sermon // December 7, 2025
We are in the second week of the Advent season! This week we focused in on the peace that Christ brought and brings to our lives. Pastor Jeni Hall is back with us once again to preach the sermon as we discover how peace can exist deep within us because of Jesus Christ; a peace that surpasses understanding.
Things to consider as you listen:
We do not become chaos immune when we choose obedience to Jesus.
We live in this anticipatory Shalom - we live expecting and awaiting the day when all will be made right.
We are most like our Father in heaven when we not only live at peace, but when we bring peace to spaces.
We don’t just dine in peace at the table in the midst of chaos, but often God asks us to scoot over & make room at the feast of peace for our enemies.

CELEBRATION SUNDAY.
This Sunday we celebrated together what we call CELEBRATION SUNDAY in which we had both our english-speaking congregation and spanish-speaking congregation joined together in unified worship within the same service. We had a wonderful time encountering God as one church family.
ADVENT WEEK 1: HOPE
This Sunday was also the first week of Advent. Pastor Amanda preached on the Hope that comes as we move into this time of excitement surrounding Christ’s birth. We kicked off Advent well remembering that “We are people of hope.” Join us this week for a message that will bring encouragement, light to darkness, and hope.
Things to consider as you listen:
The silence was not absence - it was preparation.
When God seems distant, silent, or late… that is often when He is preparing a miracle. He is never absent. He is never late.
God often begins His greatest works invisibly.
The church has always been most powerful when the world is at its darkest.
God’s Grace is always reaching and saving. God’s imprint is on all of His creation and He moves it toward His purpose.
Every act of compassion reveals the hand of God.
WE ARE PEOPLE OF HOPE.
*There was trouble with the livestream recording this week. In place of an audio recording this week, we have linked the YouTube recording for you to listen to the message.
